Sectarianism

The former Yugoslavia after its wars of 1991 to 1995:

We are to be persuaded by the political leaders who wish to write the history of the recent conflicts in the former Yugoslavia, that the wars were ethnically motivated, and had very little to do with religious beliefs.

The resulting split of the country and its new demographic map suggests otherwise; it suggests that if ethnicity was the main factor, it was ethnicity created by alternate religious beliefs and adherence.

It is what happens when religious adherence is allowed to demand so much respect in the public sphere that religious affiliation becomes a pseudo nationality within a nationality.

This is the inevitable outcome of years of religious indoctrination and religious segregation.

It can happen in other - presently peaceful - countries, if the citizens of that country allow its government to promote religious indoctrination and religious segregation.

It could even happen in Britain! It might even have the seeds that lead to this disastrous outcome, already sown with all good - but misguided - intentions.

Those deadly seeds could well be called FAITH SCHOOLS, and the seeds would be watered with virulent RELIGIOUS INDOCTRINATION.

So, could religious segregation and indoctrination through a country wide faith schools system ever cause religious tensions in the UK, or even lead it towards a Yugoslavia type scenario in the long term future?

 Maybe, we are already on our way there!

Help stop this madness today, write to Michael Gove and David Cameron and insist that they dismantle the faith school system immediately!
